The Exploding Heads

Anthony co-created double act The Exploding Heads with Mark Davison in 2012. Anthony and Mark looked at the world of football and politics and thought, “this is already ridiculous… let’s make it even more absurd.”

They’re best known for creating viral sketches and characters like Colin from Portsmouth, the culture warrior who vents his spleen on LBC, and Ian Fiveankles, the washed-up pundit who somehow still gets invited on air. Their work has been seen on ESPN, BBC Comedy, The Guardian, Paddy Power and beyond, reaching millions of viewers who now find it impossible to watch Match of the Day with a straight face.

On stage, The Exploding Heads bring their surreal footballing universe to life. Their live theatre show Colin from Portsmouth sold out across the UK, proving that what works online works even better when you’re shouting at a crowd in person.

They’ve also scored success in audio with the sitcom Sports Horn, a send-up of sports radio that was nominated at the British Podcast Awards for both Best Comedy and Best Sports Show.
